Head Start is designed for young puppies who are still developing household habits, confidence, social skills, engagement, and early obedience foundations. Eligibility depends on your puppy’s age, vaccination status, developmental needs, and training history, which will be reviewed during your consultation.

No. Head Start is a puppy-development and foundational-training program. It is not designed to address aggression, significant reactivity, serious fear, or complex behavioral concerns. Puppies displaying those behaviors must be assessed individually and may require a different program.

The program establishes age-appropriate potty routines and helps your puppy develop more reliable habits. Results still depend on your puppy’s age, physical development, schedule, environment, and consistency after returning home. Your team will explain how to continue the routine successfully.

Current age-appropriate vaccine records are required before training begins. Exact requirements will be reviewed during enrollment based on your puppy’s age, program dates, and the recommendations of your veterinarian.

Socialization is approached through thoughtful, age-appropriate exposure to environments, surfaces, sounds, people, objects, handling, and other experiences. Exposure to other dogs is based on vaccination status, temperament, safety, and what is developmentally appropriate for the individual puppy.

You receive hands-on owner instruction, a detailed send-home lesson, and two follow-up lessons to help you maintain routines and continue building on your puppy’s progress. Additional training options are available at reduced rates when further development is needed.
