Program Questions

Questions About Choosing a Program

Learn more about program recommendations, behavior support, enrollment requirements, and what happens after training.

The right program depends on your dog’s age, temperament, behavior, training history, home environment, and your goals. During your consultation, we review those factors and recommend the program that provides the most appropriate level of structure and support.

No. Behavior rehabilitation is only included in the Behavior Rehabilitation Program unless otherwise discussed during your consultation. Obedience programs are not designed to address aggression, serious reactivity, or other complex behavioral concerns.

Dogs displaying aggression, significant reactivity, fear, anxiety, or safety concerns must be assessed individually. We may recommend the Behavior Rehabilitation Program instead of a standard obedience program so the dog receives the appropriate handling, structure, and training plan.

No. The Head Start Program focuses on puppy development, confidence, potty training, socialization, household manners, and early training foundations. It does not include behavior modification for aggression or serious reactivity.

A 30% deposit is required to reserve your dog’s training dates. The remaining balance is due one week before the program begins. Deposits and payments are nonrefundable because training space, staffing, and preparation are reserved specifically for your dog.

Owner education is included throughout the process. Depending on the program, clients receive hands-on lessons, a detailed send-home lesson, access to BK9 Academy, and continued lifetime support so they can confidently maintain their dog’s progress at home.

Before the program begins, clients must complete the required intake forms, sign the training agreement, provide current vaccine records, and review any preparation materials provided by the Blackhawk K-9 team.
