Moose is a young doodle that is the founding member of Blackhawk Rescue and Rehab. He is looking for an active and experienced home with no young children. He loves to be with his people, run around, is learning how to play fetch (and bring the ball back), all while mastering his obedience.

Moose's Story
On a random Wednesday, one of the founders of Blackhawk Rescue & Rehab received a distressing phone call requesting urgent help for a dog that was on death row. The dog had been brought to the shelter by his family and was scheduled to be euthanized that Friday. Samantha, a dedicated foster for another rescue organization at the time, sprang into action. She managed to reach the shelter manager and arranged to visit Moose that very day.
Upon meeting Moose at the shelter, Samantha observed his fear and distress in the unfamiliar environment, which is common for many dogs in such situations. Samantha, along with co-founders Melissa and Bailey, faced a critical decision. With the rescue organization Samantha fostered for no longer accepting dogs, they resolved to establish Blackhawk Rescue & Rehab to save Moose and others like him.
Samantha contacted Moose's previous family to understand the circumstances that led to his situation. They explained the regrettable incidents that resulted in the two bites, circumstances we believe could have been avoided. As a precautionary measure, Blackhawk Rescue & Rehab now considers only families with older children or no children in the household for Moose's adoption. We will soon be testing him with other dogs to see about the possibility of allowing him in a home with other dogs, but a meet and greet will be required for any other pets that are in the home.
Moose possesses a delightful temperament and a keen enthusiasm for training. He thrives on activity and adventure, making him an ideal companion for an active family. Moose would excel in sports like agility or fastcat, or he would make an excellent hiking partner.
